Stay on track with a Charlotte Mason inspired SHS curriculum.

According to Charlotte Mason, the early years are a time of rich exposure to nature, habit training, and enjoyable stories. She emphasizes formal academic learning to begin at age 6, and we use the preschool years to focus on forming crucial habits of learning while in an environment of play and exploration.

For Kindergarten, we use the Talino Charlotte Mason Curriculum Kinder, which already incorporates all the necessary components of a CM preschool: Bible, music, art, handicarft, nature study, stories, and poems.

For the Charlotte Mason philosophy, Form 1 (Grades 1 to 3) is a foundational time where the children learn the habit of attention and develop the basic CM skill of oral narration, which is also the foundation for written composition in later years.

In Form 2 (Grades 4 to 6), the student increases in skill and starts to add written narration, dictation, and grammar. These, among others, strengthen the child’s communication and analytical skills.

With the Charlotte Mason method, the preschool years are a crucial time for laying the foundation for loving learning. We encourage movement, outdoor time, and play time to maximize the child’s natural curiosity.

Although formal academic learning in the CM method begins at age 6, we use the preschool years to lay the foundation for loving learning. We use play, outdoor time, story time, music and handicrafts, among others, to develop our little ones’ skill to the fullest.
